One of my deviations was originally entitled "Are You Mad?" --- the question my mother asked me while I was roughly working on this painting, with harsh brush strokes and palette knife scraping. It was ironic since I was trying to come up with a tranquil setting on canvas. I guess I was driven by passion.
Seeing new places inspire me. A certain mood sinks in and I begin to paint. While I was reading some of the comments on this deviation I just couldn't help but smile, knowing I had taken the viewers on a journey and had somehow affected them in a good way. I've always wanted my art to have that kind of impact on others.
And it means a lot to me that you took some time to view "Orient 1." I appreciate the comments. They do motivate. Thank you.
*maladie, thank you very much for your kind words and for suggesting this piece.
^De-Profundis, thanks for featuring my work as a daily deviation in the Traditional art category.
I had a stressful day today but it feels good that I got to share this with you. I'm glad.

Orient 1 by ~tropicity presents such a beautiful combination of misty colours and striking lines. Brought to you by another one of the dAmn #traditional crew! (Suggested by ~maladie and Featured by `De-Profundis)
This is gorgeous. I love this. I actually was working on something along the lines of this. Except mine was worked with digitally, and having this traditional shows much more of a talent I think. I love the simplicity and the essence you've captured from what looks like a wonderful trip through nature. I'm in love with the colors and the wonderful texture and the beautiful tree looking needle leaves on the right-my favorite part along with the white layered over the many colors. Fantastic. I see now that you've got a variety of style apart from the fresco looking paintings
Thanks so much! The beauty of nature has inspired me to work on this series. I'm trying a different style this time, working with light and softer tones. I'm glad you like the result.
I can't wait to see your work. You've got great skills in digital arts, so I'm sure it looks wonderful.
Gorgeous painting... i love the brush strokes in this... this feels so empty... but at the same time... there's such a mystery within the space... great work.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
When it comes to community spirit, `Rushy is a shining example. In the world of perfect imitations, the art is born from errors in duplication.

I like the foggyness, and the leaves on the side...
...oh, and the smeared paint...
